However, when I come back another day, it is locked again, I'm going to try to unlock the upstairs door as someone else suggested to get by the problem entirely.
When I leave and try to come back, the door is no longer locked. The lockpick screen does not come up, instead the door opens. If it does not open, go back into sneak mode and try to open the door. I haven't figured out the exact procedure, but more than once now, by just going into sneak mode, entering the lockpick screen, exiting (without attempting to lockpick), exiting sneak mode, then try to open the door lets me in. Turns out, the glitch doesn't require the lock be picked. I've found a way to get into the emporium without picking the lock or having a spell, which is good since at the low level (5), I can't use a spell to open hard locks and picking a hard lock is a pain in the a$$.
